Sponsored Walk

Image
Image from wikipedia On a day this August, Iyla, Amiya, James and Theo are taking on a big challenge! To raise money for their trip to Kandersteg, they'll be "climbing" the height of Dufourspitze, the highest peak in Switzerland, by walking across Itchen Bridge again and again. As a team, they'll need to cross the bridge 166 times to reach the equivalent height of 4,634 metres. That works out at: 42 crossings each Around 20 miles of walking each They'll be setting off bright and early and, of course, stopping for plenty of well-earned ice cream breaks along the way! If you'd like to support them and help them get to Kandersteg, we'd be incredibly grateful for your sponsorship. Please sponsor them here: https://gofund.me/690bc63d6

Great start to August

June Update and 2 Fairs on One Day

Image
On the 6th of June, our team had two fundraising fairs on the same day! Iyla, Max and I went to the Woolston Library Fair. We sold paracord bracelets that Max had made, ran a "Name the Bear" competition, a "Guess the Sweets in the Jar" game and a raffle. At the same time, James and Theo went to Theo's Rising Stars Fair. They had planned to do tomahawk throwing, but because the weather wasn't very good, they changed their plans and had a tabletop sale instead. At the library we were right by the entrance, which was a really good spot because lots of people walked past us. We were really busy for the first couple of hours. The "Guess the Sweets in the Jar" competition was definitely the most popular, and lots of people wanted to have a go. When we packed everything away, Max, Iyla and I went over to the Rising Stars Fair. We were hoping to see Theo perform, but sadly we got there just after he had finished. Instead we joined in with the limbo competi...

Sholing Valleys Spring Fair

Image
On the 16th of May, we were really lucky to have a stall at the Sholing Valley Spring Fair. It was really busy and lots of people came. James, Theo, Amiya and I all worked together with our parents to sell plants, fidget toys and sweets. We also had a "Name the Bear" game and a "Guess How Many Sweets Are in the Jar" competition. The most popular thing by far was our tomahawk throwing. People could have 3 throws for £1, and lots of people wanted to have a go. It was really fun watching everyone try. We sold all of our plants and fidget toys, which was amazing. We were so happy because it meant we had raised lots of money for our trip. The Mayor even came over and had a go at the tomahawk throwing. It was really nice to see him joining in with everyone. It was great to be part of such a lovely community event. There were loads of brilliant stalls to look around too. My favourite (apart from ours!) was the stall selling freshly pressed apple juice. It was really ta...
